Impact Capital Managers Mosaic Fellowship Winner to Join HCAP Partners for Summer Mentorship Program
HCAP Partners is pleased to announce that Jessica Kim, an Impact Capital Managers (ICM) Mosaic Fellowship winner, will join HCAP Partners for a 10-week program that pairs Fellows with ICM member funds.
Jessica is currently pursuing an MBA at NYU Stern School of Business, where she is a Tensie Whelan Faculty Scholarship recipient and a Forté Fellow. Jessica also holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Columbia University. Most recently, she has interned at BFY Capital in venture debt, conducting initial due diligence on companies in the better-for-you food, beverage and beauty space.
“HCAP Partners is eager to advance underrepresented, diverse graduate students aiming to enter the impact investing world and is pleased to have Jessica join us for the ICM Mosaic Fellowship," commented Hope Mago, Partner at HCAP Partners. “We look forward not only to her contributions here at HCAP but also to her professional development.”
The Mosaic Fellowship provides high-performing first-year graduate students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds the opportunity to spend a summer as a Summer Associate at one of ICM’s member funds. ICM Mosaic Fellows contribute to substantive workstreams at their host funds – including landscape analysis, deal sourcing and due diligence, financial modeling, and impact measurement and management. ICM facilitates connection building and networking for Fellows through a mentorship program – pairing Fellows with someone outside their host fund, a tailored curriculum on impact fund management led by senior leaders from ICM member funds, and networking events with the ICM board and membership throughout the summer.
“Having come from a background in credit risk and private banking, I’m familiar with how risk and return fundamentally affect how business decisions are made, but I wanted to further explore how impact is a dimension that is just as important,” said Jessica. “Through this opportunity, I’m eager to learn more about impact investing and be a part of HCAP’s mission to foster economic development through high quality job creation. I’m looking forward to an incredible summer with the team!”
The ICM Mosaic Fellowship is made possible in part through generous grant support from the Surdna Foundation, Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Heron Foundation, and W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
